John's education consists of earning a M.A. in History and a B.A. in Social Science. He taught public school for a combined (10) years in Arizona and Pennsylvania; and Junior College at Rio Salado Community college in Phoenix and Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington. He made a career change into the restaurant business and successfully became a Director in (3) different restaurant companies and operated restaurants for over (25) years and was directly responsible for over (40) restaurant openings. He is a successful Commercial Realtor and Business Broker with his specialty and/or niche use areas being restaurant property and/or restaurant business brokerage. He has brokered (25) restaurant use related transactions since 2003 and is proficient in shopping center disposition, acquisition and tenancy. John additionally has considerable experience and significant relationships with Clients who own property in downtown Wilmington and he has successfully brokered investment opportunities in this unique growth and development segment and core area of New Hanover County. John was Firm "Agent of the Year" two of the last four years (2005 & 2008), and he has possession of over 65K entries in his proprietary database (ACT). He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM); and regularly attends local, regional, national, and international conventions. As an example John attended this year's ICSC convention in Las Vegas that attracted over 55,000 attendees from all over the world. John has served as a Director with the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce's sponsored non-profit Community in Schools chapter for New Hanover County, and formerly served as the the President of the School Advisory Council at St. Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington which has approximately (350) students in grades K-8.
